Sony's 1000X The Collexion update follows the WH-1000XM6 with a gaming boost
July 3, 2026

- Sony is rolling out firmware version 1.3.0 for the 1000X The Collexion.
- The update adds Gaming Audio Profile (GMAP) support and general performance improvements.
- Sony recently released the same gaming-focused update for the WH-1000XM6.
After recently adding Gaming Audio Profile (GMAP) support to the Sony WH-1000XM6, Sony is now rolling out firmware version 1.3.0 for the Sony 1000X The Collexion with the same feature.
The changelog is brief, adding support for GMAP, a low-latency Bluetooth profile designed for gaming, along with general performance improvements.
The 1000X The Collexion are Sony’s latest premium true wireless headphones, launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sony’s flagship 1000X series.
The addition of GMAP should reduce the audio delay common with traditional Bluetooth connections and help game audio stay better in sync with on-screen action.
GMAP also supports bidirectional voice chat, allowing players to use the microphone while continuing to receive high-quality game audio, instead of switching to the lower-quality audio mode found on older Bluetooth profiles.
As with the WH-1000XM6, you’ll only get the full benefit of GMAP if the connected phone, PC, or Bluetooth adapter also supports GMAP. While compatible source devices are still relatively uncommon, Sony’s latest updates show it’s preparing more of its premium headphones and earbuds for the next generation of Bluetooth gaming.
