The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro will launch globally this week
February 26, 2026

- Xiaomi is releasing its new Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds on February 28, 2026.
- These promise superior noise cancellation, 8 hours of battery life, and flagship features.
- The buds are already available in Southeast Asia, and European pricing has been confirmed.
Just over one year after releasing its Redmi Buds 6 Pro, Xiaomi is unveiling the updated Redmi Buds 8 Pro. These premium earbuds sport an ergonomic, AirPods-style design in three attractive colorways. These include Glacier Blue, Cloud White, and Obsidian Black. The buds ship with three pairs of silicone ear tips and feature a rounded charging case with a battery-level strip on the front panel. However, the earbuds do not support wireless charging, meaning users must charge them via USB-C.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro run Bluetooth 5.4 and support the SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs. The last provides high-quality wireless audio streaming, and the buds support Bluetooth LE for battery-efficient listening. You also receive Multipoint connectivity and Dolby Atmos spatial audio with head tracking. The earbuds can share audio from a single device if you own a recent Xiaomi smartphone. They also support Google Fast Pair for automatic device connection.

Xiaomi claims that the Buds 8 Pro quell up to 55dB of environmental sounds with active noise cancellation enabled. This is reportedly 20% more powerful than the REDMI Buds 6 Pro’s ANC capabilities. Similarly, the Buds 8 Pro support adaptive noise canceling for real-time attenuation. Frequent travellers can also use the Immersive commuting mode, which is specifically tuned for public transport. Calls are conducted using a 3-mic array, and an AI noise-reduction algorithm dampens wind noise.
Battery life clocks in at approximately 8 hours per charge and 33 hours with the case. You can also fast-charge the buds for 5 minutes to receive 2 hours of listening time. The Buds 8 Pro are IP54-rated to guard against water and dust, and downloading the Xiaomi Earbuds app unlocks control customizations and other advanced features. Purchasing the buds awards 2 months of ad-free listening with Spotify, provided that you are a new Spotify Premium user.
The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro have an official global release date of February 28, 2026. However, Xiaomi and third-party retailers have already begun replacing the Redmi Buds 6 Pro across Europe and Southeast Asia. For example, Xiaomi lists the buds on its Malaysia and Thailand websites, while MediaMarkt and Saturn are selling them in Germany. The latter are listed for €69.99 (~$83) on eBay stores, not the companies’ official websites. US shoppers must wait for further confirmation.
