Spotify can finally keep your Wrapped safe from Baby Shark Do Do Do Do Do
Jul 15, 2026 — 9:00 AM ET

- Spotify is rolling out free Managed Accounts for kids under 13, giving them their own music profiles.
- Separate child profiles keep your recommendations and Spotify Wrapped free from nursery rhymes and cartoon soundtracks.
- Parents get robust controls, including explicit content filters, PIN protection, and the ability to block specific artists or songs.
If your Spotify recommendations have somehow turned into an endless loop of nursery rhymes and Disney soundtracks thanks to your kids, you’re definitely not alone. One week of playing Baby Shark or Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on repeat is often enough for Spotify to decide that’s all you ever want to hear. Thankfully, Spotify has a fix for that.
Instead of having children borrow a parent’s profile, Spotify now wants them to have their own space. The company is expanding Managed Accounts, a feature that was previously tied to Premium Family subscriptions. It’s now becoming available more widely at no extra cost in supported markets, including the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, with more countries set to follow.
Designed for children under 13, Managed Accounts give kids their own dedicated Spotify profile. Parents can set one up through the app’s Settings and Privacy menu under Parental Controls, keeping their child’s music separate from their own recommendations and listening history.

That separation comes with plenty of built-in safeguards. Parents can decide whether explicit content is allowed, remove access to specific artists or tracks, and rest assured that their child’s account won’t be discoverable by other users. Social features are stripped away as well — there’s no messaging, profile photos are replaced with avatars, and the experience focuses solely on music, omitting podcasts, audiobooks, and videos.
The real benefit, though, is one every Spotify user will appreciate: your recommendations finally stay your recommendations. If your daily mixes have been overtaken by cartoon theme songs or bedtime playlists, this should prevent it. Even better, your annual Spotify Wrapped will once again reflect what you actually listened to, while your child gets a Wrapped that’s personalized to their own music habits.
Spotify is also making this work for families that share a phone or tablet. Parents can lock their own profile behind a PIN before handing over the device, making it easy for kids to switch into their Managed Account without accidentally changing playlists or recommendations on the main one.
