Yamaha's new soundbar offers big bass in a tiny package
Sep 16, 2026 — 3:45 AM ET
- Yamaha has launched the B200A, its most compact Dolby Atmos soundbar yet.
- It’s just 23.5 inches wide and comes with a built-in subwoofer and Bass Extension mode.
- It’s priced at $249.95 and will be available in November 2026.
Soundbars usually force a trade-off between size and bass, since good bass typically requires bulkier hardware or a separate subwoofer. Some of the best soundbars on the market come with external subwoofers, but Yamaha is trying to change that with its latest offering.
The company has launched a new compact soundbar, the B200A, designed for spaces where a full-sized soundbar-and-subwoofer combo wouldn’t make sense. Despite its compact form factor, the B200A supports Dolby Atmos, paired with Yamaha’s Hi-Fi-inspired engineering for room-filling sound.
The B200A includes a built-in subwoofer for stronger low-end performance, along with a Bass Extension mode for punchier bass. It also features Yamaha’s Clear Voice technology for clearer dialogue in movies and TV shows, and offers four sound modes: Movie, Standard, Stereo, and Game.
At just 23.5 inches wide, Yamaha’s latest soundbar is great for smaller spaces like bedrooms, apartments, or home offices. It fits easily under a TV, sits neatly on a desk, or can be wall-mounted using the built-in keyholes. For connectivity, it supports HDMI eARC/ARC, optical, 3.5mm AUX, and Bluetooth.
Users can control the soundbar with their TV remote or through the Yamaha Sound Bar Remote app on a smartphone. The Yamaha B200A is priced at $249.95 and will be available for purchase starting in November 2026.
