When looking to buy new earbuds, chances are you might turn to Reddit to see which products people recommend. With all the different opinions out there, though, how might you determine which earbuds get mentioned the most?
One Reddit user, @heyyyjoo, conducted an analysis of earbud recommendations across Reddit. The latest version examines 2,385 relevant threads and 14,472 users, representing a significant expansion from the original 316 threads analyzed in April. Using an AI large language model, comments from key search terms like “best wireless earbuds,” “best earbuds for working out,” and “best noise canceling earbuds” were analyzed based on sentiment analysis. The earbud models were then ranked from normalized positive sentiments and normalized positive:negative ratio to determine the final score (weighted 75%-25%).
The wireless earbuds with the most positive Reddit mentions are the AirPods Pro Series (including first and second generation), maintaining their top position from the April analysis with 1,535 positive mentions. In the number two slot is the standard AirPods Series with 645 positive mentions, and the Noble Audio FoKus Rex5 rounds out the top 3 with 65 positive mentions and an 86% positive sentiment ratio. The Beats Fit Pro, which held second place in April, now sits at number four.
Budget options from Anker Soundcore are well-represented in the top 10, with the V20i, Sport X20, Space A40, and Liberty 4 NC all making appearances. This suggests Reddit users appreciate both premium flagship models and compelling budget alternatives. The updated analysis also includes brand-level rankings and subreddit-specific lists. For those specifically interested in the r/Earbuds subreddit recommendations, the rankings differ from the overall list.
