Technics latest flagship headphones use tech from its Hi-Fi speakers

There are a lot of headphone options vying for the top spot as the best headphones to buy. Highly acclaimed models like the Sony WH-1000XM6 and open-back options like the Sennheiser HD 505 are all great picks. Now, there’s a new option you might want to consider.
Technics has launched its new flagship headphones, the EAH-A1000, four years after releasing its previous flagship, the EAH-A800. The EAH-A1000 features a redesigned driver mechanism and a new diaphragm, along with several improvements to the headphones’ design and internal structure.
The headphones pack a newly developed 40mm Magnetic Fluid Driver, which Technics says reproduces sound with clarity and accuracy. It uses the same technology seen in other Technics products, including the EAH-AZ100 wireless earbuds, resulting in precise driver movement for less distortion and better overall sound.
Additionally, Technics has employed diaphragm technology from its Hi-Fi speakers to further improve sound quality. It uses a Symmetrical Surround Technology (SST) Edge that helps the diaphragm maintain its shape, reduces flex, and works with the new driver to preserve the low end while creating a wider soundstage.
Technics also designed a new acoustic path to better preserve airflow from the driver to the listener’s ears. A new “Baffle Flat Structure” reduces uneven surfaces around the driver, minimizing sound reflections.
The EAH-A1000 headphones support active noise cancelation using four microphones that work together to identify and reduce ambient noise. Support for LDAC allows them to stream high-resolution audio over Bluetooth, and they also support USB audio for wired listening.
Technics claims a battery life of around 45 hours with noise cancelation turned on, and the headphones support multipoint connectivity with up to three devices.

The Technics EAH-A1000 flagship headphones are priced at $449 and will be available to purchase on Amazon and the Technics website.
