Skullcandy is teasing something you can feel, and the clues point in one direction

It certainly looks like the fan-favorite Crusher line is making a comeback.

TL;DR
  • Skullcandy has started teasing a mystery product launch scheduled for July 15 with a countdown timer on its website.
  • The company’s repeated references to letting people “feel” the audio strongly hint at a new Crusher-series headphone announcement.
  • A recent FCC filing for the Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC also adds further weight to the theory.

Skullcandy is gearing up for a new product launch on July 15. While the company isn’t saying exactly what’s coming, its latest teaser is dropping enough hints about what could be on the horizon.

Skullcandy’s website is counting down to a “Mission Launch” scheduled for 7:45 PM ET on July 15. Visitors are greeted with the tagline, “We’re on a mission to give the people something they can feel,” alongside a short teaser video in which skate icon Tony Hawk, Skullcandy’s official brand ambassador, addresses a room full of people gathered around a TV before declaring, “Make the greatest headphones ever.”

The page also invites visitors to sign up to be the first to know about the announcement. After entering an email address, users are shown another cryptic message: “Something is happening inside the Skullcandy lab. You’ll be the first to find out what it is.”

None of that explicitly reveals what’s coming, but the repeated emphasis on giving users something they can feel seems like a nod toward Skullcandy’s signature Crusher lineup. The series stands out for its adjustable sensory bass technology.

Adding to the mystery is another line on the teaser page: “A collaboration. A breakthrough. Something that has never existed before.” We strongly suspect the collaboration Skullcandy is hinting at could involve Bose. The company used a similar teaser campaign ahead of the launch of the Method 360 wireless earbuds, which were later revealed to feature Bose-tuned audio.

If this is indeed a new Crusher launch, the timing would make sense. Skullcandy hasn’t refreshed its flagship Crusher lineup in quite some time. The popular Crusher Evo debuted back in 2020, while the Crusher 2 followed in 2023. Aside from the fitness-focused Crusher 540 Active and gaming-focused PLYR 720 released in 2025, the company hasn’t introduced a major new entry in the family.

Recent regulatory filings also lend some credibility to the speculation. The Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC recently appeared in FCC documentation, suggesting the company has new Crusher products in the pipeline. While FCC certifications don’t reveal launch plans, they often precede official announcements.

For now, Skullcandy is keeping its cards close to its chest. But between the sensory-focused messaging, the long gap since the last flagship Crusher headphones, and the recent FCC sightings, all signs suggest bass lovers may not have long to wait.
