Razer
TL;DR
  • Razer has launched PlayStation and Xbox versions of the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed.
  • Although both pairs of earbuds are mostly the same specs-wise, the PlayStation edition uses 3D audio, and the Xbox edition uses Windows Sonic.
  • Both pairs of earbuds also support PC, Android, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and other handhelds.

Razer first launched the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed back in April. Only months later, the company is now rolling out two refreshed versions of the earbuds. If you’re a PlayStation or Xbox gamer, you’ll now be able to get the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed for your respective console.

Razer has announced it is releasing PlayStation and Xbox editions of the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed. Unsurprisingly, the PlayStation model matches the PlayStation look, with a white, blue, and black color scheme. The charging case is also white on the outside, black on the inside, and features a PS logo. Meanwhile, the Xbox version looks almost identical to the standard model, except that the inside of the charging case is green.

Neither the Xbox nor the PlayStation supports standard Bluetooth audio devices. To get around that restriction, the earbuds connect to their respective consoles through the HyperSpeed case, which acts as a 2.4GHz wireless receiver when connected to the console via USB-C.

Additionally, you can expect Bluetooth 5.3, 10 hours of playtime, an extra 25 hours provided by the charging case, and IPX4 water and dust resistance. That means you’re getting the same specs as the standard model. However, the PlayStation and Xbox editions do differ in one respect — surround sound.

The PlayStation model uses 3D audio when connected to a PlayStation, while the Xbox model uses Windows Sonic. Both editions also support PC, Android, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and other handhelds. When connected to PC, they’ll use THX Spatial Audio for 7.1 for surround sound.

Razer is selling both editions of the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed for $99.99. You’ll be able to purchase them on Razer’s website (1, 2) or on Amazon (1, 2).
