Master & Dynamic launches new ANC earbuds with AI-enhanced features

It’s been two years since Master & Dynamic last launched earbuds in the MW series. But the MW series is making a return this year and it’s bringing a few big improvements.
One quick look at the new MW09 earbuds, and you’ll notice at least one of the changes — the industrial design. The MW08 had a solid, almost shield-like shape, while the MW09 incorporates a ring within that design. It features an anodized aluminum design with a sapphire glass finish. However, it’s not just the design that’s been improved.
This time around, the battery is said to last up to 16 hours with adaptive noise canceling (ANC) off. That’s up from the previous generation’s 12 hours of playtime with ANC off. The claimed battery life goes down to 12 hours with ANC enabled. The charging case — which comes in aluminum or Kevlar — brings an additional 32 hours to that time, up two hours from the old case.
One of the features that stood out on the MW08 in our review was the good microphone quality. M&D looks to have improved it even further with a new AI-powered high-definition talk solution that keeps your voice clear regardless of how much noise there is around you.
And speaking of sounds, the manufacturer has given the earbuds a full in-app equalizer. It also supports Bluetooth 5.4 and multipoint connectivity, so you can easily switch from phone to laptop or whatever other device you’re using.
As before, you’re getting an 11mm beryllium driver. However, M&D says the acoustic architecture has been redesigned for an improved sound profile.
The MW09 comes in six colorways, three designed to match the aluminum charging case and three to match the Kevlar case. It will be available for preorder on November 14, 2023 on masterdynamic.com. The aluminum case version will set you back $349, while the Kevlar case version will be slightly more expensive at $399.
