Say you were listening to a song and wanted to skip to the next or previous track. You could easily do that with your phone or laptop. But it becomes a hassle if the audio source isn’t nearby. Thankfully, top-of-the-line wireless earbuds like the Apple AirPods have gestures for this.

This article will explain how to skip songs with AirPods.

QUICK ANSWER

To skip to the next track, double-tap the 1st and 2nd-gen AirPods or double-press the force sensor on the 3rd-gen AirPods and AirPods Pro. To return to the previous track, triple-press the force sensor on the 3rd gen AirPods and AirPods Pro.

FAQs

By default, the double-tap function on AirPods skips to the next song. If this doesn’t work, check your Bluetooth settings to ensure that you haven’t accidentally changed the default setting or update the firmware of your AirPods. If neither works, confirm that your AirPods are not fake.

You can adjust the volume of your AirPods Pro (2nd generation) by placing your thumb on the stem of either AirPod and swiping your index finger up or down the touch control.

You can’t change the intensity of the noise cancelation of your AirPods Pro. However, you can switch between ANC and transparency mode.
