- Fiio has launched the FG3, its first dedicated gaming headset, for $69.99.
- The headset was unveiled in February and was supposed to be released in May.
- It features a coaxial dual-dynamic-driver setup, built-in DSP, virtual 7.1 surround sound, and a detachable ENC microphone.
- It supports PCs, smartphones, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2, with browser-based EQ customization instead of dedicated software.
Fiio has officially entered the gaming headset market with the launch of the FG3, its first-ever dedicated gaming headset. The headset was originally announced alongside the higher-end planar magnetic FG5 back in February, but it’s only now making its way to store shelves.
While the FG3 is available starting today, Fiio has yet to share an updated launch timeline for the flagship FG5, which had previously been slated for a July release.
Fiio FG3 features and specifications

Instead of chasing RGB lighting or flashy aesthetics, the FG3 takes advantage of Fiio’s Hi-Fi audio expertise. The company says its debut gaming headset combines a coaxial dual dynamic driver design, dedicated DSP processing, virtual 7.1 surround sound, and broad cross-platform compatibility, all at an entry-level price.
At the heart of the headset is a 50mm dynamic driver that handles low and mid frequencies, while a secondary 16mm titanium-plated dynamic driver reproduces higher frequencies through an electronic two-way crossover. Fiio says this coaxial arrangement improves phase consistency and positional accuracy while extending the frequency response from 10Hz to 40kHz.
The FG3 also packs a dual-core DSP chip alongside an integrated DAC capable of decoding audio up to 192kHz/24-bit. The onboard headphone amplifier is capable of delivering up to 80mW of output power, and the company claims that the combination helps reproduce subtle in-game details and clear cinematic effects.
Elsewhere, the headset supports virtual 7.1 surround sound with dedicated Cinema and Action modes for directional awareness.
Communication is handled by a detachable microphone with Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), not to be confused with Active Noise Cancelation, to filter out background sounds such as keyboard and mouse clicks. Hardware sidetone monitoring is also supported, allowing users to hear their own voice with adjustable levels.
One of the more unusual features is Fii0’s browser-based configuration tool. Rather than requiring downloadable software, the FG3 uses the Fiio Control Web interface, allowing users to save custom 10-band EQ profiles directly to the headset.
Other features include a foldable closed-back design, breathable mesh earpads with memory foam cushions, a stainless steel headband, inline audio controls, and a detachable cable.
Supported devices and availability
The Fiio FG3 is designed to work across a wide range of platforms without requiring driver installation. It supports Windows PCs, smartphones, laptops, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and the Nintendo Switch 2 via USB-C or USB-A connections, with UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0 support.
The headset is available now in black for $69.99/£69.99/€69.99. Meanwhile, the company has yet to announce when the previously unveiled FG5 gaming headset will go on sale.
