- CMF’s Speaker S and Speaker M are already receiving their first firmware update, version 1.0.1.55, just hours after launch.
- Both speakers can now remember up to eight paired phones, with options to disconnect, reconnect, or remove individual devices.
- The update also introduces Auracast-powered Party Mode for sharing audio across compatible devices, along with improvements to Stereo Mode.
It’s only been a few hours since Nothing’s sub-brand CMF launched its first Bluetooth speakers, the Speaker S and Speaker M, and the company is already improving them. Both speakers are getting their first firmware update, version 1.0.1.55, which adds a few features that should make listening to music and sharing it with friends much easier.
For starters, the update makes managing Bluetooth connections more convenient. Both speakers can now remember up to eight paired phones, which is useful if you share your speaker with family or friends. You can also disconnect, reconnect, or remove individual devices without clearing the entire pairing history. It’s a small improvement, but it could save you frustration when switching between phones.

Things get more interesting with Party Mode, which uses Auracast to let compatible devices listen to the same audio broadcast. For instance, if you and a friend both have compatible Nothing or CMF audio devices, you can listen to the same playlist at the same time without sharing a pair of earbuds or headphones. The feature works with the Nothing Headphone 1 Pro and other Nothing and CMF devices that support Auracast.
Finally, CMF has also improved Stereo Mode, although it hasn’t explained exactly what’s changed. Still, it’s nice to see the company adding useful features to its speakers right out of the gate, especially ones that make sharing music and switching between devices more convenient.
