Spotify has officially named Bad Bunny its 2025 Global Top Artist, and it wasn’t even close. With 19.8 billion streams this year alone, he reclaimed the title for the fourth time after dominating 2020, 2021, and 2022. His newest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, also took the top global album spot.

For anyone even vaguely tuned into global music, his win won’t come as a surprise. This marks his fourth time earning the crown, solidifying his place as the defining superstar of the streaming era. The Puerto Rican artist’s blend of reggaeton, trap, and genre-bending pop continues to resonate everywhere — even if, in the U.S., Taylor Swift still ranks number one.

Spotify’s new short film captures that worldwide reach in a playful way: a small animated frog travels across different countries watching people blast Bad Bunny on buses, in barbershops, in cars, and everywhere in between. It’s a simple but charming illustration of how far his music travels, regardless of language or geography.

Fans may also spot an easter egg in the app. Tapping the play button on select Bad Bunny tracks will trigger a special animation, and top listeners may receive a personalized video message from him within their Wrapped feed.
