These are the best Bluetooth speakers, according to hundreds of Reddit users

When you’re shopping for a Bluetooth speaker, chances are you’ll run into a ton of “best of” lists, but none quite like this. Reddit user @heyyyjoo put together a massive dataset to figure out which portable Bluetooth speakers people actually recommend the most.

As part of a side project to improve their coding skills, they scraped 477 Reddit threads from the past year and used an AI model to pull opinions and run sentiment analysis. The speakers were then ranked based on how often they were mentioned positively, using a weighted formula that combines the overall difference between positive and negative comments with the ratio between the two.

Since product names on Reddit can get messy, they also did some manual cleanup to group similar models and fix brand name issues. The result is a crowdsourced list of the most-loved portable speakers on Reddit. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the options out there, this might help narrow things down.

So, which Bluetooth speakers came out on top? Here are the models Reddit users recommend most, based on thousands of real-world comments.

According to Reddit, the most recommended portable Bluetooth speaker right now is the JBL Charge 5. In second place is the Bose SoundLink Flex, with the JBL Flip 6 rounding out the top three.

This isn’t the first time Reddit user @heyyyjoo has tackled something like this, but this updated version goes a step further. It pulls from a wider set of threads, handles model names more accurately, and doesn’t limit itself to just what’s sold on Amazon. They also cleaned up duplicates and grouped similar models together since Reddit users don’t always stick to exact product names. While most of the heavy lifting was done with AI, there was some manual editing to keep things tidy.
