  • TDM has launched a new pair of headphones called the Neo.
  • Twisting the headphones turns them into a portable speaker.
  • The hybrid headphones are available in the US for $249.

With so many options out there, it’s difficult for a pair of headphones to stand out in the market. That won’t be a problem for TDM’s latest product. The company’s newly launched headphones have a unique party trick you won’t find anywhere else.

Today, TDM announced the launch of new over-ear headphones called the Neo. The company describes the Neo as “hybrid headphones,” which plays into the intriguing gimmick of these cans. With no more beating around the bush, the Neo’s main draw is that it can turn into a portable speaker with a single twist.

These headphones feature four 40mm drivers. Two of those drivers face inward for headphone mode and two face outward for speaker mode. While in headphone mode, this device offers passive noise cancelation. TDM claims that you’ll get up to 200 hours of battery life while in this mode. It’s also important to note that the cans weigh 340g and include dual-layer memory foam ear cushions for comfort.

Meanwhile, the outward drivers use five watts of power to provide room-filling audio. You’ll only get up to 16 hours of battery life while in speaker mode. There are four physical buttons for power, volume, and changing between modes. However, you’ll be able to customize the twist action to switch between modes, pause audio, or turn the headphones off.

Additionally, the Neo includes a multi-array microphone to provide environmental noise cancelation for clear calls. That includes personal calls or joining a conference call in speaker mode. The device also supports Bluetooth 6.0, and the Neo app will unlock more features and controls, such as Game Mode, customizable EQs for both modes, and device location tracking.

TDM has opened up sales of the Neo in the US. The headphones come with a $249 price tag and are available in black and white. You’ll be able to find them on TDM’s website, as well as on Amazon and Walmart. Global shipping and availability are expected to come soon.
