Spotify Audiobook Charts launch in US and UK to highlight trending titles
Mar 3, 2026 — 6:23 AM ET

- Spotify has launched a new feature called Audiobook Charts.
- This highlights trending audiobook titles by Top Audiobooks overall and by genre.
- The feature is available now to Free and Premium subscribers in the US and UK.
Spotify has just introduced Audiobook Charts in the US and UK, giving listeners a new way to discover what’s currently trending on the platform. The feature is available to both Free and Premium users and updates weekly, much like Spotify’s existing music and podcast rankings. The new charts spotlight the Top Audiobooks overall and by genre. Rankings are based on listening behavior and engagement on Spotify, giving book lovers a real-time snapshot of what people are actually streaming.
Checking them out is straightforward. Open the Spotify app, tap Search, select the “Audiobooks” tile, and scroll to the Dive deeper section. Five different charts are currently available in the UK app, covering overall trends and genre-specific rankings. The layout mirrors Spotify’s Music and Podcast Charts, so it feels immediately familiar. If you’ve ever opened the app and thought, “What should I listen to next?” this adds a quick, data-driven answer.

Spotify says the launch is designed to support the broader audiobook ecosystem. In particular, the charts serve listeners by offering a trusted guide to what’s trending, and authors and publishers benefit from greater visibility. Spotify’s Director of Audiobook Partnerships and Licensing, Duncan Bruce, pushes this point: “As we’ve proven with Music and Podcasts Charts, when content is easier to access, discover, and enjoy, the demand grows…We are delighted to now bring that to audiobooks.” In other words, Spotify is applying the same discovery mechanics that helped elevate songs and podcasts to its audiobooks.
This update isn’t happening in isolation, though. Spotify has steadily added new audiobook-focused features over the past few months. For example, the company recently rolled out Page Match. This lets you sync your place between a physical or e-book and its audiobook version. Before that, Spotify introduced AI Recaps. This adds short audio summaries designed to catch you up on plot points you may have forgotten. Together, these updates show that Spotify isn’t treating audiobooks as a side project. Instead, it’s clearly positioning them alongside music and podcasts as a core pillar of the platform.
As stated, Audiobook Charts are currently limited to listeners in the US and UK. Spotify hasn’t confirmed when or if a broader rollout will happen. However, given how lightweight the feature is, expanding it to additional regions seems plausible. For now, if you’re in either market, you can access the charts whether you’re using a Free or Premium account. With weekly updates and real listening data behind the rankings, Spotify’s audiobook charts could become a quick go-to for anyone looking for their next listen, and a powerful visibility boost for aspiring authors.
