Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones are back to their $198 all-time low
Oct 12, 2026 — 10:45 AM ET
Sony’s WH-1000XM5 is still one of the big names in premium over-ear noise canceling headphones, and there’s a very good deal on it at Amazon right now. This model is known for strong active noise canceling, clear call quality, and handy extras that make it a great pick for travel, work, and daily listening.
The WH-1000XM5 supports multipoint pairing, so it can stay connected to two devices at once. It also supports LDAC for higher-quality Bluetooth audio, as well as spatial audio features and head-tracking on supported devices. Battery life is listed at up to about 30 hours with noise canceling on, and fast charging is there when you need a quick top-up. Sony is also still supporting the headphones with firmware updates, with version 2.5.1 listed in 2026.
As for the deal, Amazon has the Sony WH-1000XM5 down to $198. That’s a $201.99 discount from its $399.99 recommended retail price, which is 50% off the RRP. It’s also still at its Prime Day price and matches the all-time low, so this is about as strong a price as we’ve seen for these headphones.
Even with newer models above it in Sony’s lineup, the WH-1000XM5 still stands out for its mix of noise canceling, battery life, audio support, and call performance. At $198, it makes a lot more sense to grab a premium pair without paying full price.
