This Sony WH-1000XM5 deal cuts 38% off premium noise canceling headphones

Sony’s WH-1000XM5 headphones are still one of the big names in premium noise canceling audio, and there’s a solid deal on them at Amazon right now. Even with the newer XM6 now around, the XM5 still brings a lot of what people want from Sony’s flagship-style headphones, especially when the price drops like this.
The WH-1000XM5 stands out for strong active noise canceling, comfort, sound quality, and features that still hold up well. You get up to 30 hours of battery life, multipoint Bluetooth for switching between devices, LDAC support, and fast charging. Sony also still supports the model through its headphones app, with updates continuing to roll out. That all helps keep the XM5 relevant for travel, commuting, and office use, where blocking outside noise and wearing headphones for long stretches really matters.
That brings us to the deal. Amazon has the Sony WH-1000XM5 down to $248, which is $151.99 off its $399.99 recommended retail price. That’s a 38% discount relative to the RRP. It’s not the lowest price we’ve seen this year, since it dropped to $198 during the recent Prime Day sale, but otherwise this is the second-best deal we’ve seen on these headphones lately.
The value story looks even better when you compare it with the newer model. The XM6 may be the successor, but it costs about $200 more, which makes the XM5 a much easier buy for anyone who wants premium Sony features without paying top-tier money. At this price, the WH-1000XM5 remains a very appealing pick.
