The latest and greatest tech is always really nice to have, but premium headphones can get really pricey. The Sony WH-1000XM6 are a whopping $449.99, and the XM5s are still going for $399.99. Neither of these are on sale right now, but the WH-100XM4 are!

Considering you can get the Sony WH-1000XM4 for just $199.99, I would definitely consider getting the 2020 headphones, as they are still great in 2025. They may be oldies, but they are definitely goodies, and most users will still love them right now.

Remember, these launched as premium headphones. You’ll get excellent audio quality, and ANC performance is really good. Sure, the others beat it in both departments, but they are not good enough to justify at least twice the price.

Additionally, Sony has been adding really nice extra features to its headphones for a long time. The WH-1000XM4 come with most of the bells and whistles. Features include Bluetooth multipoint, auto-pausing when you remove the headphones, touch controls, and more. The battery isn’t as impressive, but the 24 hours you’ll get per charge are more than enough for most people.

Oh, and keep in mind these are in new condition. That means you still get the full 1-year manufacturer warranty!
