Your Sony audio devices are about to lose some of their best features
- Sony is ending support for several services on many of its audio and visual products.
- The services ending include: Amazon Prime Video, Google Cast, Netflix, Pandora, Slacker Radio, Spotify, and Vudu.
- Support will come to an end on November 17, 2026.
If you own a Sony soundbar, wireless speaker, Blu-ray disc player, or any other audio and visual products from the brand, we have some bad news for you. Sony plans to end several services across its portfolio of devices. However, you’ll have some time before these services are shut down.
Sony is starting to warn users that it plans to terminate certain network services on select products. This shutdown even affects services that have been downloaded on the affected models. These services include:
- Amazon Prime Video
- Google Cast
- Netflix
- Pandora
- Slacker Radio
- Spotify
- Vudu
As for the termination date, the shutdown will go into effect on November 17, 2026. So, you still have five more months to take advantage of these services before they become inaccessible. Sony adds that it may begin removing icons associated with these services from the affected devices starting on November 18.
This shutdown will hit a number of Sony devices in the following categories: audio and micro component systems, Blu-ray disc players, AV receivers, Blu-ray Disc home theater systems, media players, soundbars, and wireless speakers. Here’s the full list of affected models:
