Open-fit wireless earbuds are having a moment, with more consumers seeking earbuds that let in their surroundings rather than block them out. Sennheiser’s new ACCENTUM Open is the company’s answer to this growing trend, combining its well-known audio expertise with a stemmed, unsealed design that echoes the look and feel of Apple’s AirPods.
At the core of the ACCENTUM Open is an 11mm dynamic transducer positioned just outside the ear canal, aiming to reduce ear fatigue while still delivering satisfying sound. This open design prioritizes comfort and awareness—ideal for people who want to stay in tune with both their playlists and their environment.

With support for Bluetooth 5.3 and multipoint pairing, the earbuds allow users to easily hop between devices, such as switching from a work call to music on a smartphone. Dual-beamforming microphones should improve voice pickup and suppress background noise for clearer calls.
Weighing just 4.4 grams each, the earbuds are lightweight and designed for all-day wear and include touch controls on the stems. Battery life is rated at 6.5 hours per charge, with a total of 28 hours, including the case. A 10-minute quick charge should yield up to 1.5 hours of playback, which could be enough for a full commute or a podcast session.
Sennheiser’s ACCENTUM Open will be available in black and cream finishes starting in early June, with an MSRP of $129.95 USD or $149.95 CAD.
