The Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless delivers excellent sound quality with well-separated vocals and instruments across a broad soundstage, particularly excelling in the mids and trebles. Battery life is solid with a clever earcup rotation power feature, though noise cancellation performance lags behind competitors in variable acoustic environments. Touch controls are frustrating and unresponsive for anything beyond basic pause/resume functions.

The PXC 550's greatest strength is their superior sound quality. However, unresponsive touch controls and inconsistent noise cancellation performance prevent an unreserved recommendation. If you value sound quality above all else and can tolerate the usability quirks, these headphones may be right for you, but other noise-cancelling wireless headphones offer better noise-cancellation technology or user interface.

The PXC 550 Wireless represents talented noise-cancelling performance at an attractive price point, allowing Sennheiser to prove themselves clearer and more rhythmically surefooted than the Bose QuietComfort 35s. While the slightly rich bass errs on the side of being a touch overstated, it remains carefully balanced without slowing rhythms or weighing down dynamics.
