Marshall's iconic Stockwell speaker finally gets a modern encore

Get ready because you’re about to feel old. Believe it or not, but it’s been seven years since Marshall launched the Stockwell II. While you recover from that shock, know that the British audio brand is finally ready to give the Bluetooth speaker line a refresh. Marshall has announced the launch of the Stockwell III.

You likely won’t be able to immediately tell the difference between the latest iteration of the Stockwell and its predecessor by just looking. The Stockwell III adopts much of the same design as the Stockwell II. Adding to the similarities is the guitar-inspired PU leather carrying strap, textured silicone sleeve, and solid metal front and back grilles.

However, this isn’t just a rehash of the 2019 model. Marshall has improved upon the previous generation by giving the Stockwell III a much larger battery. Double the size, in fact, for a battery life of over 40 hours.

Another notable upgrade is the water- and dust-resistance. The previous model had an IPx4 rating, while the Stockwell has been moved up to IP55. For those not in the know, this means the company’s latest Bluetooth speaker is protected from limited ingress of dust and jets of water from all directions.

What’s a Stockwell speaker without True Stereophonic 360-degree sound? This feature makes a return, along with Dynamic loudness. That means your bass, mids, and treble stay balanced at any volume level. And you’ll be able to jump to presets with the M-button or skip tracks with the media jog. It’s also worth mentioning that the speaker can be used as a power bank for your phone or other devices.

The Stockwell III is launching in Black or Brass and Cream on Marshall’s website and Costco. It will be available on August 4 for $249.99.
