Edifier has officially expanded its popular studio monitor lineup with the launch of the Edifier MR4.5, a new near-field speaker system designed to bridge the gap between entry-level workstations and professional studio environments. Aimed at modern content creators, music producers, and audio enthusiasts, the bi-amplified monitors promise high-resolution audio performance alongside flexible modern connectivity.
The new Edifier MR4.5 desktop speakers build upon the success of prior entries in the series, which have been praised for balancing accurate sound reproduction at budget-friendly price points. According to Edifier’s official announcement, the Edifier MR4.5 hits a strategic sweet spot in the brand’s updated MR series, sitting neatly between the entry-level analog-focused MR4 and the flagship 110W MR5.

A core highlight and standout upgrade of the MR4.5 is its connectivity and focus on modern, hybrid workflows. Unlike its strictly wired predecessor, the MR4.5 features Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity complete with LDAC codec support, earning it a Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification alongside the usual Hi-Res Audio certification. It also includes multipoint connectivity, allowing users to seamlessly transition audio sources between a computer and their phone without interrupting their workflow.

For more traditional, latency-free studio monitoring, the MR4.5 still respects its studio roots. The back panel is loaded with professional balanced XLR and TRS inputs, alongside standard RCA and AUX connections, plus a front-facing headphone output socket.
Edifier has also prioritized room adaptability, equipping the hardware with manual acoustic tuning and desktop compensation controls. This helps counter the acoustic reflections that happen when placing monitors right against a wall or on a cramped desk. For deeper personalization, the speakers integrate with the Edifier ConneX companion app for fine-tuning EQ settings directly from a smartphone.

On the hardware front, the MR4.5 features 4.5-inch mid-bass drivers paired with 1-inch silk-dome tweeters. It delivers a total output power of 80W RMS — split between 30W per mid-bass driver and 10W per tweeter — with a maximum Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of 98dB at 1 meter. Edifier claims the system achieves a flat frequency response spanning from 50Hz to 40kHz.
