Edifier unveils new headphones, studio monitors, and home audio gear at IFA 2026

Edifier has arrived at IFA 2026 with a broad range of new audio products, including flagship wireless headphones, a professional three-way studio monitor, and a surprisingly powerful compact subwoofer.
This year’s show also marks an important milestone for the company. Edifier was founded in Beijing in 1996, making 2026 its 30th anniversary. Rather than centering its IFA presence around a single new product, Edifier is using the show to highlight what it calls “Complete Audio Solutions for Every Listening Scenario,” spanning personal audio, home entertainment, professional studio equipment, Hi-Fi, and gaming.
There are plenty of products on display, but three announcements stand out: the WH950NB Pro wireless noise canceling headphones, the XR6 professional studio monitor, and the MW6T compact powered subwoofer.
Here’s everything you need to know about the new products.
The WH950NB Pro are Edifier’s new flagship wireless headphones
For personal audio, the biggest IFA announcement from Edifier is the WH950NB Pro headphones.
The new over-ear headphones sit at the premium end of Edifier’s wireless lineup and combine a dual-driver design with adaptive active noise canceling, spatial audio with head tracking, and up to approximately 70 hours of claimed battery life with ANC switched off.
Rather than using the single full-range dynamic driver found in many Bluetooth headphones, the WH950NB Pro places two drivers in each earcup. There’s a 40mm woofer handling the lower end of the frequency range alongside a dedicated 10mm tweeter. Edifier says the system uses a DSP-enhanced analog crossover to distribute frequencies between the two drivers and create smoother transitions between them.
The headphones also support LDAC for higher-bitrate Bluetooth playback on compatible devices, alongside SBC and AAC (MPEG-2). Bluetooth gets upgraded to version 6.1, and the WH950NB Pro supports both multipoint connectivity and Google Fast Pair. USB-C digital audio and an active 3.5mm connection are available when you don’t want to use Bluetooth.
The “active” part of that 3.5mm specification is worth noting. Instead of becoming completely passive when connected with an analog cable, the headphones can continue using their internal electronics. That’s useful for anyone who wants to use a wired source while retaining powered features.
Edifier is putting a lot of emphasis on noise canceling with the WH950NB Pro. The headphones use an eight-microphone sensing system for Adaptive Hybrid ANC. Edifier says the microphones continuously analyze surrounding noise and adjust the noise canceling system in real time, with the goal of adapting performance to changing environments such as commuting and air travel.
Call processing gets its own microphone system. Edifier says six microphones and an AI beamforming algorithm are used to isolate the user’s voice, while the physical microphone arrangement has also been designed to reduce wind interference during outdoor calls.
Another notable addition is spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. The feature is designed to maintain a virtual soundstage as you turn your head, creating the impression that audio sources remain positioned around you rather than moving with the headphones. It’s intended for music, movies, and other entertainment content.
The WH950NB Pro also includes wearing detection for automatically pausing and resuming playback. Edifier’s Smart Chat feature can detect when you start speaking, pause your music, and activate transparency mode so you can have a conversation without manually removing the headphones.
Battery life is rated at around 70 hours with ANC disabled, and fast charging is supported. Edifier’s specification sheet lists both black and white color options, physical button controls, a 3.5mm AUX cable, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and a travel case among the included accessories.
The WH950NB Pro isn’t expected to go on sale immediately during IFA, but later in 2026. We’ll have more detailed coverage once retail units become available, including a full SoundGuys review based on our hands-on testing.
The XR6 brings room calibration to Edifier’s studio monitor lineup
Edifier’s announcements aren’t limited to headphones.
The XR6 is a new professional active studio monitor designed for home studios, recording environments, and other content creation setups. Its headline feature is a true three-way, tri-amped architecture rather than the more common two-way configuration used by many compact studio monitors.
Each XR6 uses a 1.25-inch aluminum dome tweeter, a 4-inch aluminum midrange driver, and a 6.5-inch aluminum woofer. Each driver also gets its own Class-D amplifier channel, with 10W allocated to the tweeter, 30W to the midrange driver, and 60W to the woofer for 100W of total RMS output per monitor.
Separating the frequency range among three drivers is intended to reduce the amount of work each individual driver has to handle. In a studio monitor, the goal isn’t to exaggerate certain frequencies but to deliver a sufficiently neutral and predictable representation of a recording so that producers and engineers can make reliable mixing decisions.
When it comes to sound quality, Edifier says the XR6 has been tuned for flat on-axis and off-axis frequency response, while its die-cast aluminum enclosure is designed to reduce resonance and cabinet coloration. The monitor also incorporates end-to-end 24-bit/192kHz DSP processing, including its active crossover.
Perhaps more interesting is built-in support for automatic room calibration. Dedicated PC software can measure the listening environment and create correction filters, which are then applied using the monitor’s internal DSP. Manual controls for factors such as bass roll-off, desktop placement, and tilt are also available on the rear panel. The required external measurement kit isn’t included with the speakers.
Connectivity includes balanced XLR and TRS analog inputs, an RCA input, and AES/EBU digital connectivity. There’s also an AES/EBU output that allows multiple monitors to be daisy-chained in professional setups.
The XR6 measures roughly 7.6 x 11.3 x 12 inches, making it relatively compact given the three-way configuration and 6.5-inch woofer.
The MW6T squeezes two 6.5-inch woofers into a compact subwoofer
Those who appreciate rumbling sub-bass will want to take note of the Edifier MW6T.
At first glance, it looks like a relatively small powered subwoofer. Inside, however, Edifier has installed two 6.5-inch long-throw aluminum woofers powered by a Class-D amplifier delivering a combined 210W RMS. The company claims a frequency response extending down to 38Hz.
The two woofers are mounted in a symmetrical, force-canceling arrangement. As the drivers move, their opposing mechanical forces are intended to partially cancel each other out, reducing unwanted cabinet movement and mechanical vibration. That can be especially useful in a small subwoofer, where extracting substantial low-frequency output from a compact enclosure can otherwise create vibration problems.
The MW6T itself measures 271 x 249 x 255mm, or roughly 10.7 x 9.8 x 10.4 inches including its feet. Edifier uses 35mm MDF baffles and an 18mm MDF enclosure, with matte black and matte white finishes available.
Room interaction is particularly important for subwoofers, and Edifier has also included DSP-based Room Acoustic Compensation. The system can adjust low-frequency output depending on whether the MW6T is positioned near a corner, against a wall, or farther out into the room.
There are also more conventional manual adjustments, including an adjustable 50Hz to 160Hz low-pass filter and a 0/180-degree phase switch.
For connectivity, Edifier provides an LFE input, stereo RCA line inputs, and RCA line outputs. That means the MW6T isn’t tied exclusively to one type of speaker system; it can be added to an AV receiver, powered bookshelf speakers, desktop setup, or other compatible stereo system.
Edifier is pairing the MW6T with its M90 speakers at IFA
At IFA, Edifier is showcasing the MW6T alongside the M90 compact active speakers. We previously reviewed the Edifier M90, giving them a SoundGuys Editor’s Choice award for their versatility as a speaker system that works just as well on a desk as it does beside a TV. The M90 delivers 100W RMS of stereo output and carries both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. Connectivity includes HDMI eARC, Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, USB-C, and optical input.
The combination is intended to cover a wide range of home audio use cases. You can use the M90 speakers on their own for music and everyday listening, while adding the MW6T brings dedicated low-frequency hardware into the system for movies, games, and music that benefits from greater bass extension.
Pairing the M90 with the MW6T creates a versatile 2.1-channel setup without moving into a larger home theater speaker system.
Edifier has plenty more audio gear on display
These three announcements only cover part of Edifier’s IFA presence.
The company’s booth is divided into dedicated areas for personal audio, home entertainment, professional studio monitoring, premium Hi-Fi, and gaming. Edifier is also showcasing the S3000 MKII and products from its AIRPULSE lineup in a dedicated premium Hi-Fi area, while its HECATE brand occupies a gaming-focused section of the booth.
The STAX SPIRIT series is also part of Edifier’s IFA showcase. Those headphones use planar magnetic drivers and represent the company’s more premium personal audio offerings, targeting listeners looking for high-fidelity portable audio.
That range illustrates what Edifier is trying to emphasize with its 30th-anniversary IFA appearance. The company now operates across personal audio, portable speakers, home audio, Hi-Fi, studio products, premium audio, and gaming rather than focusing solely on the powered speakers that helped establish its name.
For SoundGuys readers, however, the WH950NB Pro will probably be the product to watch most closely after the show. Dual drivers, adaptive ANC, LDAC, spatial audio with head tracking, and 70 hours of claimed battery life make for an ambitious specification sheet. Whether those specifications add up to a genuinely competitive pair of flagship wireless headphones is something we’ll find out once production hardware is ready.
