You can now demo in-ears at participating Apple stores

If you're hesitant about buying headphones without hearing how they sound first you can now demo certain in-ears at an Apple store.

With all of modern technology, there’s really only one sure way to know whether or not you like the sound of a particular pair of headphones, and that’s to try them. Now if you go to an Apple store you can try out some of the most popular in-ears before purchasing them.

Using custom “Demo kits” an employee will now be able to bring out a couple of different in-ear options for you to try out. They also will swap out a clean pair of tips for each customer looking to purchase one. If you’re a clean freak don’t worry, as they will also have sanitary wipes to clean the headphones after each use.

Assuming you want some better quality buds than the ones that come with your phone (and you probably should) this is a great way to give a few select pairs a test run. Naturally you’ll be able to try out any of the Beats headphones, but there are also some other solid options available such as the RHA MA450i noise isolating in-ears, the Jaybird Bluebuds X, and the Bose QC20i. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out the full review of the Jaybirds that Kris did.

Just a heads up, I did call my local Apple store and the employee had no idea what I was talking about. However, when I called the Soho store they were well aware of the Demo Kits so I would recommend calling ahead just in case your local store is not participating.
