TL;DR
  • Bose is notifying customers that its new $99 Noise Canceling Wired Earbuds won’t ship or arrive by the promised date.
  • Buyers in the US and Canada have reported receiving delay emails despite pre-ordering the earbuds in late September.
  • Bose hasn’t given users a new estimated shipping date in the email, although some buyers who ordered through other retailers say their earbuds are arriving on time.

Bose’s return to wired earbuds doesn’t seem to have gone entirely to plan, with customers now reporting shipping delays for its new Noise Canceling Wired Earbuds.

The company is emailing buyers to inform them that their orders won’t arrive by the originally promised date, leaving customers in the dark about the updated delivery estimate.

The email, shared by affected customers on Reddit, reads: “We are sorry to inform you that we will be unable to ship or deliver the products in your order by the promised date. Please know we are doing everything to get your order to you as fast as fast as possible.”

Several buyers in the US and Canada are reporting that they received the same notification. One customer says they ordered the Dewdrop Mint version from Bose’s website on September 29, while others who ordered the black and white versions around September 28 and 29 are also reporting delays.

The lack of a revised shipping date is what’s even more frustrating for buyers. One Reddit user said they wished the email had included a new estimated shipping date. Another customer, who ordered a mint pair within hours of the earbuds going on sale, said the product had repeatedly gone in and out of stock, with shipping dates changing before it became available for pre-order again.

However, the delays don’t seem to affect every retailer or order. One Reddit user said their earbuds were due to arrive on Wednesday after ordering a pair from Best Buy about a week earlier.

Bose hasn’t provided a specific reason for the reported delays or a revised delivery timeline in the email shared by customers.

The $99 Bose Noise Canceling Wired Earbuds feature USB-C connectivity, active noise cancelation, Quiet and Aware modes, and support for 24-bit/48kHz lossless audio. Bose’s new earbuds were announced last month, with general availability scheduled to begin on October 15.
