Beyerdynamic unveils open-back MMX 330 Pro gaming headset at IFA 2024
- Beyerdynamic introduces MMX 330 PRO, an open-back version of their MMX 300 Pro gaming headset
- Features STELLAR.45 driver and cardioid polar pattern microphone
- Available now for $329.99
Beyerdynamic has unveiled the MMX 330 PRO, an open-back gaming headset, at IFA 2024 in Berlin. This new model is essentially an open-back version of the company’s existing MMX 300 Pro headset.
The MMX 330 PRO features the same STELLAR.45 driver found in Beyerdynamic’s high-end studio headphones. The open-back design is intended to create a wider soundstage, which may enhance spatial awareness in games. However, like its closed-back counterpart, the sound signature appears optimized for gaming rather than music listening.
A key feature of the headset is its cardioid polar pattern microphone, which is designed to capture voices clearly while reducing background noise. Based on the performance of the MMX 300 Pro, the microphone quality is likely to be a strong point of this new model.
Comfort seems to be a focus of the design, with the headset featuring memory foam ear pads and an adjustable headband. These features could make the MMX 330 PRO suitable for extended gaming sessions, though users should be aware that open-back designs typically offer less isolation from external noise.
The headset is compatible with multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android devices. It comes with a detachable cable and various accessories for different use cases.
The MMX 330 PRO is priced at $329.99, slightly higher than its closed-back counterpart, and is available through Beyerdynamic’s website and Amazon.
