Apple chooses Pikachu for its latest special-edition Beats Pill speaker
Oct 13, 2026 — 2:40 PM ET
- Beats has unveiled a Pokémon-themed Pill speaker featuring Pikachu and Mimikyu artwork.
- The special edition includes Pokémon charms but retains the standard Pill’s features and specifications.
- Priced at $149.99, the speaker launches October 15 in the US, UK, and China.
The Beats Pill is getting a little more character. In fact, it’s getting a couple of famous ones. After teasing the collaboration with a lightning-filled video yesterday, Beats has now revealed a special-edition version of its portable Bluetooth speaker featuring two familiar faces from the Pokémon universe.
Announced in a press release, the Pokémon x Beats Pill features Pikachu and Mimikyu on its speaker grille. Pikachu brings its signature electric yellow to the design, while Mimikyu gets a more subdued grayscale treatment. The speaker also comes with a removable carrying lanyard adorned with custom charms, and even the packaging has been given an interactive Pokémon-themed makeover.
Underneath the Pokémon artwork, this is essentially the same Beats Pill that’s already on sale. It offers up to 24 hours of battery life and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. You also get high-resolution lossless audio over USB-C, the ability to charge a compatible phone from the speaker, and the option to pair two Beats Pills in Amplify or Stereo Mode.
The collaboration was also announced on the official Pokémon website, and a short teaser video released yesterday showed a Beats Pill emerging from the darkness amid flashes of Pokémon-style lightning. The Beats and Poké Ball logos at the end were enough to give the game away, even if the design itself remained a mystery until today.
The Pokémon x Beats Pill goes on sale on October 15 at 8 AM Pacific, priced at $149.99 — the same as the regular model. US buyers can pick one up through Apple or Target, while availability is also confirmed through Apple and selected retailers in the UK and China.
