TL;DR
  • A new leak has shed light on almost every detail of the upcoming Beats 360 headphones.
  • The headphones could come with a replaceable headband and earcups.
  • They could also feature better active noise cancellation than the Beats Studio Pro, and cost $299.

Apple-owned headphone brand Beats may be showing signs of being hollowed out by Apple’s own AirPods offerings, but that hasn’t stopped the company from frequently launching new products that ride on Beats’ brand identity and value. Now, the company is gearing up to launch yet another pair of Beats-branded headphones — the Beats 360 — and a new leak has given us almost all the details.

Users on Reddit spotted several now-removed Beats 360 listings on retailer websites, and it looks like the company is making some much-needed improvements to its headphones. According to the leak, the upcoming Beats 360 will feature a more rounded design than the Beats Studio Pro headphones. The ear cups and headband could also be replaceable.

Leaked images also suggest Apple could launch them with two types of ear cups: a mesh fabric option and the UltraPlush-style cushions seen on headphones like the Beats Solo 4.

The leak also reveals pretty much all the most important features of the headphones. The Beats 360 could feature 1.75x better active noise cancelation (ANC) than the Beats Studio Pro headphones. They could also offer Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking and feature beamforming microphones with an AI-trained algorithm for improved call quality.

The Beats 360 could also be the company’s first sweat- and water-resistant headphones with an IPX4 rating. Other information from the leak suggests all-day battery life with ANC enabled and a comprehensive set of buttons, including a volume rocker, power button, listening mode button, and a multifunction button to control music and calls.

The Beats 360 are expected to launch in the US at $299 and will likely be available in a variety of colors, including black, blue, neon, and pink. There’s no word on a launch date, but Apple could launch them soon to cash in on the holiday sales.
