While there are reasons to go with headphones other than the Apple AirPods Max, there is no denying they are amazing. In fact, we still have them listed as the best option for Apple users, if money is no issue. These are also among the most expensive consumer-level headphones out there, so it’s always nice to wait for a good deal, and today’s is the best we’ve seen.

It all starts with the design, which offers that clean, minimalist, metallic look Apple is so known for. These look and feel amazing, and we found them to be very comfortable. The soft earpads and headband can be comfortably worn for hours.
Looks aside, you’re also getting a state-of-the-art overall experience here. The sound quality is outstanding, and ANC performance is up there with the best in the industry.
Of course, you’ll also get plenty of fancy features. These include auto-pausing, automatic device switching, gesture controls, direct access to Siri, and more. Many of these features are Apple-exclusive, though. This is why we mainly recommend these headphones only to Apple users. There are great options for Android users that have no platform exclusivity.
We ran these through our standardized tests and managed to get 21 hours of battery life out of them. This is not impressive compared to other headphones, but we were pleasantly surprised to find they can last longer than Apple’s 20-hour estimation.
Aside from the Apple exclusivity, our main complaint with the Apple AirPods Max is that they are costly. While $429.99 is no chump change, it sure beats paying the full $549 retail price. If you were on the fence about getting these and were hoping for a good deal to come, this is your chance.
