AirPods Max 2 deal cuts Apple’s latest over-ear headphones to $449

Apple’s AirPods Max 2 are the company’s latest premium over-ear headphones, and they bring a solid list of upgrades over the first model. There’s a deal on them at Amazon right now, which makes this a good time to take a closer look.
The biggest change is the H2 chip, which powers newer features already seen on recent AirPods models. Apple says the AirPods Max 2 offer stronger active noise cancelation, improved sound quality, and support for Adaptive Audio. You also get Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and Live Translation. The design is mostly unchanged, so this update is more about what’s happening inside than a full new look. Apple announced the AirPods Max 2 in March 2026, and they started shipping in early April 2026.
They also seem to be landing well with buyers, with a 4.6-star rating. That should add some extra confidence for anyone thinking about jumping into Apple’s over-ear headphone line for the first time.
As for the deal, Amazon has the Apple AirPods Max 2 down to $449. That’s 18% off the $549 recommended retail price. It’s only the second time since launch that they’ve dropped this low, and the only time they were cheaper was during the recent Prime Day sale.
