Have you ever wanted to customize your headphones? There’s a sea of headphones in every shape, size, and color, so it’s not quite the rarity to see a few different color variants of a certain model of headphones. Still, variants are very rare when they are coming from an IndieGoGo project. Here we get color variants, increased serviceability, and great build quality wrapped up in one with the Meze 99 Classics.

The name is a tiny misnomer, though. There aren’t literally 99 different models to choose from. Rather, the name implies that there are a myriad of different color options from the wooden ear cups to the metal band. As far as specs go, there are two 40mm neodymium drivers behind every single pair capable of dynamic contrast for a more natural listening experience.

The most notable aspect of these headphones is how serviceable these headphones are built. Every single component can be easily swapped out with the glue-free construction. Every component is secured with a series of nuts and bolts. This allows an increased customizability for the user.

Every pair comes with a detachable 1.2 meter long cable with an inline mic and remote, as well as a 3 meter long Kevlar OFC cable. Other inlcuded accessories include a 6.3mm gold-plated adaptor, an airline adaptor, and an EVA carrying case.

There are currently two different variants. The first variant features walnut wood with gold accents. The second variant features maple wood with silver accents. Both variants are available for pre-order now at $299.00 on their website or their IndieGoGo campaign. These may not be the absolute pinnacle of custom headphones, but for headphones that look great with giant drivers, The 99 classics may be worth your $299.
