Vizio releases lineup of soundbars with Chromecast support
Today, Vizio took the wraps off six new soundbars with improved features, including two with Chromecast support. The remaining four—while not supporting Google Assistant or Vizio’s proprietary SmartCast—boast many of the same internal components, but at a reduced cost.
Heading up the lineup are the two SmartCast models, the $249.99 VIZIO SmartCast 36″ 5.1 Wireless Sound Bar System, and the $149.99 VIZIO SmartCast 36″ 3.0 Wireless Sound Bar. Both models connect to your source audio over your home’s WiFi connection, and can stream music over many popular Chromecast-enabled clients like Spotify, Play Music, and Pandora. Because these models eschew the normal Bluetooth connection, users will be far less likely to notice skips in songs, or drops in audio quality.
The rest of the lineup includes a 28″ 2.0 channel soundbar, a 36″ 2.1 channel soundbar, a 36″ 2.1 channel soundbar system, and a 32″ 5.1 soundbar system.
