TL;DR
  • SteelSeries drops a limited ‘Glorange’ version of the Arctis GameBuds
  • The transparent orange design adds retro flair without changing what works
  • Available today for $159.99 at SteelSeries.com.

I’m a big fan of the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds. They’ve been my go-to gaming earbuds thanks to solid sound, strong ANC, and low-latency wireless support for consoles like the PS5 and Switch. SteelSeries is giving them a fresh look with a limited-edition ‘Glorange’ colorway: a transparent orange that feels straight out of a late-90s tech catalog.

Aside from the growing library of 200+ game-specific EQ presets in the mobile app, nothing’s changed under the new retro-inspired hood. Battery life is still a reliable 40 hours with the case, ANC performs surprisingly well for the price, and the ergonomic design, shaped by those much-touted 62,000 ear scans, remains one of the most comfortable I’ve worn.

The ‘Glorange’ edition taps into the growing trend of transparent tech. We’ve seen it with the Beats Studio Buds Plus, the Nothing Earss, and Sony’s latest earbuds, but this one scratches a particular nostalgia itch for me. The translucent orange shell reminds me of the old N64 console my cousins and I would crowd around for hours. If I’m being honest, these will probably replace my standard white GameBuds as my daily drivers—sometimes style counts, especially when it brings back memories.

These limited-edition GameBuds are available starting today for the same $159.99 price tag as the standard version. If you were already considering a pair, this new colorway might be the push you needed. Just don’t expect them to stay in stock for long.
