Sony’s new $29 wired earbuds might be all you actually need

- Sony released the IER-EX15C earbuds, which are available today for $29.99.
- USB-C wired design—no charging or latency.
- Includes in-line remote, volume control, mic mute, and call support.
Sony has unveiled its new IER-EX15C USB-C wired earbuds, priced at $29.99. These in-ear headphones are designed for users who want plug-and-play convenience without compromising on comfort or audio quality. They feature compact 5mm drivers, a lightweight design, and a built-in remote for playback and call control.
The IER-EX15C includes an in-line remote with support for playback, volume control, call handling, and a mic mute toggle. While Apple’s USB-C EarPods ($19 at Amazon) also offer similar playback and volume controls, Sony’s model includes three sizes of silicone ear tips for a more secure fit and better passive noise isolation, something Apple’s hard plastic unsealed design doesn’t provide.
The earbuds are compatible with various USB-C devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. A serrated, tangle-resistant cable and included cable adjuster make for easier handling on the go. Available in black, white, blue, and pink, the IER-EX15C also arrives in fully plastic-free packaging.
That said, Sony’s model name “IER-EX15C” doesn’t do it any favors. Try saying that five times fast or even once without glancing back at the box.
