Sonos products are about to get more expensive
August 6, 2025

If you’re eyeing a new Sonos speaker or soundbar, you may want to buy sooner rather than later. In its third fiscal quarter earnings presentation, Sonos confirmed it will raise prices on several products later in 2025 to offset increasing international tariff costs.
According to reports, Sonos manufactures its gear in Vietnam and Malaysia—countries now subject to steep U.S. import tariffs of 20% and 19%, respectively. The financial hit is already showing: in the most recent quarter alone, tariffs cost the company $2.1 million. That number is projected to more than double to $5 million in Q4 2025 as new inventory subject to these rates arrives.

To stay ahead of the impact, Sonos plans to implement price increases across much of its product lineup. The company hasn’t detailed exactly which products will be affected or by how much, only stating that the hikes will roll out later in the year. That means you may want to move quickly if you’re thinking of upgrading your home audio setup.
This isn’t just about short-term damage control. Sonos also signaled a long-term strategy shift, noting plans to expand its geographic manufacturing footprint to reduce future tariff exposure and support continued global growth.
While details remain thin for now, the writing’s on the wall: Sonos gear is about to get more expensive. If you’ve been on the fence about picking up a new speaker, it might be wise to act before these changes take effect.
