TL;DR
  • Shokz unveils OpenFit 2+ with Dolby Audio, wireless charging, and AI-powered call clarity.
  • Maintains key features of OpenFit 2 while improving comfort, fit, and sound immersion
  • Now includes wireless charging

Shokz just announced the OpenFit 2+, introducing several notable upgrades over the already well-reviewed OpenFit 2. Priced at $199.95, the new open-ear headphones enhance audio performance with Dolby Audio, support wireless charging for the first time in the series, and include AI-powered call clarity for better communication in noisy environments.

Compared to the OpenFit 2—which launched at $179.95 and introduced physical controls, a longer battery life, and more comfortable ear hooks—the OpenFit 2+ brings further refinements. While both models feature Shokz’s DualBoost drivers for improved bass and mids, the 2+ integrates Dolby Audio processing for a more immersive and dynamic sound profile. Wireless charging is another major addition: users can now charge the case on any compatible Qi pad, with the same total 48-hour battery life carried over from the previous generation.

Shokz also redesigned the silicone coating and ear hooks for a softer, more secure fit. The OpenFit 2+ adds AI-driven noise cancelation for calls—an area not addressed in the OpenFit 2—aiming to improve microphone clarity in outdoor or urban environments. Connectivity gets a bump as well with support for Bluetooth 5.4, compared to 5.3 in the previous model.

The OpenFit 2+ will be available in standard colorways from major retailers and directly through Shokz.com. An exclusive HYROX Black/Gold edition will be sold only via the official Shokz website.

Shokz appears to be taking a strategy of meaningful iteration, building on the OpenFit 2’s strengths with targeted upgrades to fit, sound quality, and charging convenience. For users already satisfied with the OpenFit 2, the 2+ may be a modest but worthwhile improvement—especially for those who make frequent calls or value wireless charging.
