Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE bring AI and longer battery life for less
6 hours ago

- Samsung revealed the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, which will be released in early September and cost $149.99.
- The wireless earbuds have ANC, Spatial Audio, 24-bit Hi-Fi, and 11mm drivers.
- The Buds 3 FE also includes AI-powered features like Gemini and real-time translation with Interpreter.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds 3 FE today, the latest addition to its Fan Edition line. A US release is set for September 4. Priced at $149.99, the Buds 3 FE brings several high-end features from Samsung’s flagship earbuds, including Galaxy AI, Crystal Clear Call, and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), to a more accessible tier.
The earbuds feature IP54 water resistance and pinch/swipe controls via the stem-based blade design, closely resembling the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Audio upgrades include a larger 1-way dynamic driver than the previous Galaxy Buds FE, and support for 24-bit Hi-Fi sound. Samsung claims the ANC system has been enhanced to reduce ambient noise, and the Crystal Clear Call technology uses a pre-trained machine learning model to isolate your voice. The adjusted microphone position should also help with voice pickup, with microphones now facing towards the user’s mouth.
With support for Gemini and Galaxy AI, the Buds 3 FE can handle voice commands, calendar queries, and real-time translation using the Interpreter app on Galaxy phones. Samsung emphasizes hands-free convenience, with features like Auto Switch, Find My Earbuds, and direct access from any Galaxy device screen, even without the app open.
Battery life is purportedly improved to provide up to 8.5 hours of playback (ANC off), 6 hours with ANC on, and up to 30 hours total using the charging case. That would give the Buds 3 FE the longest runtime in the Galaxy Buds lineup to date. The case and earbuds together are also lighter, weighing just under 47 grams, and the earbuds alone weigh 5g each.
The Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be available in Black and Gray with a matte dual-tone finish and semi-transparent accents instead of the White and Silver colors of the Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro. Samsung is also offering up to $30 off with any trade-in of wired or wireless headphones.
