RHA to release the S500i at IFA 2015
With IFA just around the corner, we’ve been receiving teasers, products, and rumors from all corners from the internet. The British audio peripheral company RHA announced that today they are launching the S500i that will officially be debuted on September 4th. Now, in the past, RHA has crafted the successful T20 in-ear headphones earlier this year and now, with the S500i, this opens up new doors for RHA when they deliver superior sound at an entry price.
RHA S500i
With all major headphones nowadays, you can expect an in-line remote and mic. The S500i blends tightly with that formula, but what breaks from the formula is to have a variant without an in-line remote and mic. For whatever reason why you wouldn’t want in-line remote functionality, RHA also has remote-less variation. It is quite a rarity to see any company make a pair of headphones and too see them make various different versions of it. Variants aside, the S500 and S500i are identical, besides the absence/inclusion of a remote. So, for £39.95, or $49.95, what does that entail, exactly? First of all you get a pretty unique cable. What makes it so special? Well, it has two distinct halves with the first half of the cable with the usual TPE finish, but the bottom half is a composed of braided fabric. Okay, it’s a cable. Chances are. the unique cable is not the largest selling point. So as far as build quality goes, it’s extremely compact with an aluminum housing. Both variants also contain a 140.1 model driver for immersive and vibrant listening. For a very affordable price point, it’s impressive that we get an aluminum housing with a fabric/TPE cable, as well as great sound quality that we can expect from RHA. The S500i will be available via the Apple Store Network starting October 2015 and will be officially unveiled at IFA on September 4. For more information, visit RHA on their website.
