Qobuz
TL;DR
  • Qobuz Connect streams Hi-Res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz directly to compatible devices without using Bluetooth, AirPlay, or third-party apps.
  • Playback stays synced across all Qobuz apps, so you can switch between devices without interrupting your music.
  • The feature is free for existing Qobuz Studio and Sublime subscribers and requires no additional setup or subscriptions.

Qobuz has officially rolled out Qobuz Connect, its long-anticipated direct streaming feature designed to rival Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. Instead of routing playback through Bluetooth or third-party apps, Qobuz Connect streams music straight from the cloud to compatible Hi-Fi gear—think amps, network streamers, and wireless speakers—while your phone or computer acts purely as a remote. This instantly improves the user experience by eliminating app-juggling and maintaining true Hi-Res quality up to 24-bit/192kHz. The difference is subtle but significant: better stability, cleaner sound, and no audio quality loss due to Bluetooth compression.

You can start an album on your laptop and switch to your phone or home audio setup without skipping a beat. The app stays fully in sync across devices—something Tidal and Spotify also offer, but Qobuz ups the ante by keeping the full editorial experience intact. That means no watered-down interface when streaming through a connected device. You can get the full Qobuz experience, including curated content and reviews, right on your living room speakers.

Qobuz Connect is available at no extra cost to existing Studio and Sublime subscribers and is rolling out via firmware updates across nearly 60 brands, including heavyweights like Marantz, Denon, McIntosh, JBL, and Focal. Developed in partnership with StreamUnlimited, the feature offers a direct line between the Qobuz app and your gear—no extra apps, no additional subscriptions. Whether you’re a casual listener or an audiophile, Qobuz Connect makes the case for simplicity without compromise.
