The verdict
The BOSS DS-1 has remained a household name among guitarists for over 45 years for good reason. The pedal delivers a classic distortion effect packaged in a hardy compact enclosure. The three intuitive knobs have a wide range of adjustment, and the pedal can be powered by a 9-volt battery.
✓Liked: Price, Great sound, Intuitive controls, Versatile
✕Could be better: 9V power supply not included, Limited functionality, Lower output than other pedals

How we verify ownersNobody who owns the BOSS DS-1 Distortion has written in yet.
Owner reviews are not paid for, not solicited from specific owners, and not rewritten by us: at most we proofread typos, which is shown on the review’s own page and which the author can undo. The commission SoundGuys may earn on this page comes from retail links, never from owner reviews.
