The verdict
The AKAI Professional MPK Mini MK3 is an excellent and affordable all-round USB-MIDI keyboard. The inclusion of eight assignable velocity-sensitive pads and a built-in arpeggiator elevate the product above much of the competition at this price point. However, the lack of onboard transport controls and touch strips make the MPK Mini MK3 more difficult to use for live performance than other MIDI controllers.
✓Liked: Price, Velocity-sensitive pads, Endless knobs, Small form factor
✕Could be better: Pads are very stiff, Sustain pedal not included, No MIDI-out, No onboard transport controls

Owner reviews are not paid for, not solicited from specific owners, and not rewritten by us: at most we proofread typos, which is shown on the review’s own page and which the author can undo. The commission SoundGuys may earn on this page comes from retail links, never from owner reviews.
