JLab announces two new speakers for the house, or the block

JLab has been making some noise with their bang for your buck products, and now they’re adding to their line-up with two new home speakers dubbed the House Party and Block Party speakers.

House Party

The House Party Bluetooth speaker is the smaller of the two, measuring at 4″ x 3.5″ x 4″. In that small build are two 2” full range drivers accompanied by two passive subwoofers for the low end. If you couldn’t tell by its name, the House Party speaker was designed to withstand all of the usual spills and messes of – well a party. It’s IPX4 certified which means you can rinse it off under a faucet if need be. This speaker has a 9 hour battery and has an average range of about 30 feet when connecting to a source device. However, you can connect up to 8 of these together up to 100 feet via Cast-Connect. On-board controls also makes it easy to control your music without needing to reach for your source device. Block Party

Just by looking at the names you might’ve already guessed that the Block Party would be the bigger of the two, and you’d be right. The Block Party speaker 5.5″ x 6″ x 5.5″ and shares many of the same features as its younger sibling like an IPX4 certificatoin and 9 hour battery life, but it sets itself apart with the sound it produces. If you’re looking to fill up large rooms, this might be the one to go with. It has 50W of power (compared to the House Party’s 20W), and also packs two 3” high-frequency drivers, two 1” tweeters, and two 3” passive subwoofers. Just like the House Party, it too has a 9 hour battery life and can connect to other speakers within 100 foot range. The Block Party will retail for $159 and is available for pre-order now.
