House of Marley brings 360 sound underwater
Adding to their increasingly popular line of audio products, House of Marley has introduced the Chant Sport with 360 sound with underwater capabilities. House of Marley isn’t exactly a household name yet, but the company brings its “Signature Sound” engineering with the House of Marley Chant Sport.
House of Marley’s first water resistant Bluetooth speaker features a cylindrical form factor that houses its 360 sound capabilities. The biggest highlight of the Chant Sport is the IPX7 water resistance certification. Unfortunately, the IPX7 rating does not make the Chant Sport suitable for actually submerging the speaker underwater. Perhaps an IPX7 rating is all anyone really needs for a water resistant 360 degree speaker, not that anyone would take a speaker underwater in the first place.
Conveniently, the Chant Sport’s form factor was designed to be a cylindrical shape to fit most cup holders or water bottle cages. Additionally, this cylindrical shape facilitates the speaker’s ability to float. Comprised of recycled bio-plastic, silicone and aluminum housings, the Chant Sport appeals to the eco-friendly oriented consumers.
As far as actual specifications, go there are two 1.75 inch drivers and two passive radiators to deliver the signature House of Marley audio. With Bluetooth 4.0 support, this allows most modern Bluetooth-enabled devices to connect and stream media. There is also an auxiliary input for devices without Bluetooth connectivity.
The integrated microphone also makes the speaker a lot more flexible when it comes to making your Bluetooth speaker your speakerphone. With eight hours of wireless media playback, the battery life is not the most stellar when it comes to playback hours but for a waterproof speaker with 360 degree audio for $119.99, the House of Marley Chant Sport is a great choice for those who want 360 degree sound wherever they go.
