For those unfamiliar with the House of Marley brand, they’re a company that makes consumer audio products out of environmentally conscious materials. They’re affiliated with the Marley family (yeah, Bob Marley) and have been slowly building a reputation as a quality audio brand with a vision. Most, if not all of their products are eco-conscious from the plastic used down to the exclusive REWIND fabric used in their products. Today they announced a brand new pair of on-ear Bluetooth headphones dubbed the Rebel BT.

If these look familiar, that’s because they’re basically an updated and enhanced version of the previous Roar wired headphones. The Roars had an almost identical design but were lacking in wireless functionality. The new Rebel BTs add that extra layer of convenience that the Roars were missing while still somehow managing to keep the most important feature: an affordable price.

Staying true to the company vision these on-ears are made using eco-friendly plastics without sacrificing durability or build quality. They feature 40mm drivers on the inside of each ear cup and the adjustable headband has a slight curve to it that enhances it’s ability to react to stress. Somewhere in those ear cups is also a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that House of Marley claims will get you a solid 8 hours of constant playback. On the bottom of the right ear cup are also some playback controls to help you switch between songs without reaching for your source device. You’ll also find a built-in mic for phone calls and a 3.5mm input as a backup for those unfortunate days when you forget to charge the headphones. That said, using the audio cable won’t inhibit any features since the included cable also has a built-in mic and remote. Whichever way you like to listen, House of Marley has you covered.

Being eco-friendly doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice any specs or quality, especially when it comes to House of Marley. These headphones have Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP stereo audio so you’ll still be able pick up on all of the little spatial cues in your favorite songs. Most impressive is that the company has managed to keep the price of these on-ears in the sub-$100 range. You can pick up a pair for yourself in navy, black, or grey for only $69 from the House of Marley website.
