The DJI Mic 3 is all the rage right now, having just been launched in late August. It is the hot mic system in town. That said, not everyone needs the latest and greatest, and you can save a nice chunk of change by going with something like the DJI Mic Mini, which is on sale for only $59 right now!
This offer is available from Amazon. It is a “limited time deal.” One thing to remember is that this is the bundle with only one transmitter and one receiver. This package doesn’t come with the carrying/charging case, but you get a dock and the necessary cables for recharging.
We’ve reviewed the DJI Mic Mini and deem it an excellent option for casual or beginner content creators on a budget. It’s easy to use, small, discreet, and intuitive. And considering you can get this bundle with one receiver and one transmitter for just $59, it is at a price that many can easily afford.
While it does not have a case, charging will require you to dock the transmitter and attach a cable to the receiver. That said, the rest of the experience is just as seamless. These will connect to each other as soon as you turn both on. It’s a wireless system that uses magnets to attach the transmitter to any clothing. Of course, it also gets a clip, and it is so small you’ll barely be able to tell it’s there.
The receiver can be docked in a camera’s shoe, and you can connect it directly to the camera using a 3.5mm audio jack. If you prefer recording with your phone, it also comes with a USB-C adapter. This means you can capture great audio regardless of what you’re shooting with.
The omnidirectional mics capture pretty good audio for the size and price. It can record in stereo, too. The bundle includes a couple of windscreens, and you also get a special feature called “Auto Limiting,” which prevents audio from clipping.
Any downsides? Well, it’s lacking some things, but they are features more casual users might not care much for. Mainly, the Mic Mini has no 32-bit float recording and on-board recording.
This will do more than fine if you want a simple microphone that records voice efficiently in most situations. More demanding users who want better noise isolation and extra features might want to upgrade to the DJI Mic 2 or Mic 3.
If you want this one, act quickly. This is a record-low price on a product that is rarely on sale. If you prefer to get the bundle with two transmitters, that one is also on sale for $109 ($60 off).
