The DJI Mic 2 took the content creation world by storm. It quickly became one of the most popular mics around, and for good reason. These may not be the absolute best microphones around, but they offer pretty good quality, as well as convenience, portability, and ease of use.
The premise is pretty straightforward. The charging case houses a receiver and two transmitters. The receiver attaches to your camera’s shoe. It has a touchscreen with a simple menu that lets you change your preferences on the fly. If you want to use it with your mobile device, it also comes with adapters for USB-C and Lightning connectors. Pull out the transmitters, and they’ll connect automatically. It kind of just works!
The transmitters are small and offer a magnetic design that allows you to easily attach them anywhere. If you prefer, they also have a clip. That said, the magnets are pretty strong, and I’ve never felt like a microphone will fall off my clothes.
These also come with cool features like 32-bit float internal recording, noise canceling (which does surprisingly well), mono/stereo recording, about six hours of battery life, and more.
