BHE launches rugged wireless speaker called the Kinesis Venture
Though there are many Bluetooth speakers that are made to withstand drops and splashes, many more are not. Better Home Essentials (BHE) is of the opinion that a good portable speaker needs to be durable, so they came up with the Kinesis Venture wireless speaker. Besides being durable, it also has some quality specs that make it a serious contender if you’re in the market for a cheap Bluetooth speaker.
BHE made sure to seal up the auxiliary input and charging port with rubber so that no dust or water can get in to cause damage. It has an IPX4 rating which means that it’ll survive some serious rain or splashes with no problem, but it shouldn’t be submerged in water unless you want it to become a paperweight. The metal grill that protects the 40mm speaker drivers are also encased in a rubberized shell making it impact resistant as well.
Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC compatibility are also present, so you should have no problem connecting to it with most devices. If you plan on taking it with you on some summer excursions you won’t have to worry about carrying it as it also comes with a built-in carabiner clip so that you can hook it onto your backpack or belt loop. Since it’s certified splash proof another cool thing you can do with it is to simply hang it from your shower head. The 2000 mAh battery and 12 hour battery life is probably more than enough for the average adventure, but if you need more juice out of it expect a 2 hour charging time.
The speaker did get some positive feedback from Amazon reviewers but it is currently unavailable, so if you want the Kinesis Venture you can get it from the Better Home Essentials website for $49. Happy adventuring!
