Are you looking for a good portable Bluetooth speaker that won’t break the bank? The Anker Soundcore Boom 2 is a great option, even at its full $139.99 price point. Right now, though, it’s at the lowest price we’ve seen: a mere $69.99 from Costco!
This offer is available from Costco. This comes with a pretty significant caveat: You can only access the maximum discount if you have a Costco paid membership. Learn more about Costco plans and pricing here. That said, you can purchase online, but there will be a 5% price increase (apparently on the full price). In this case, that would bring the price up to $74.99, which is actually still under the previous record-low price, which was $89.99.
Whether you have a Costco membership or not, the popular wholesale retailer has a pretty awesome deal on the Anker Soundcore Boom 2 at just $69.99 (or $74.99 for non-members). This speaker didn’t make it to our main list of the best Bluetooth speakers, but it is the first honorable mention, and we really like it. It’s especially nice if you’re an outdoor enthusiast and don’t want to spend much more on one of the higher-end ones.
We honestly couldn’t find many things to complain about in our Anker Soundcore Boom 2 review. The only cons we listed are that it lacks a 3.5mm headset jack and that its IPX7 rating does not include dust protection. Otherwise, it is an awesome speaker, especially at this price.
It is pretty light at 1.7Kg, and I found I can very easily carry it around wherever I go. It also measures 295 x 94 x 184mm, which isn’t tiny, but it is a very reasonable size.
The sound quality is good, and the bass can get pretty deep if you enable Bass UP. And if you’re not a fan of the sound profile, the app’s 9-band EQ makes it simple to modify it. It also has really cool light effects on the sides, which definitely make it a fun speaker.
While it has no dust rating, the IPX7 rating is pretty good at protecting it against liquids. In fact, one of its main features is that it floats!
The battery life is also outstanding. It can last up to 24 hours on a full charge when used at 50% volume, with Bass UP disabled, and without turning on the lights. Following those standards, we also ran it through our standardized tests. It actually managed to get over 27 hours of battery life. Quite impressive, if you ask us!
